The PTSA is organizing Sligo Middle School’s Fourth Annual Fitness Fun Day to be held on Friday, October 26th. This school-wide event will promote fitness and school spirit, as well as raise funds for critical school programs. Our goal is to raise $17,000 ($10,000 from corporate sponsors and $7,000 from the families in our school).
What do students need to do?
All students will seek donations toward their personal fundraising goals for Fitness Fun Day from family and friends beforehand, and then compete in basketball, dance, running and soccer during their PE/Health classes on October 26th. Every student will get a t-shirt, and students raising $50 or gathering 5 or more individual donations will be entered into a raffle to win gift cards for local businesses.
What can students win?
Fitness Fun Day is an event for everyone and there are many ways for students to win prizes. For 3 weeks prior to the event all PRIDE classes have a chance to win prizes such as Sweet Frog gift cards and other fun gifts.
- PRIDE awards will be given for the class with the highest percentage of students who have created fundraising pages on Crowdrise for the first two weeks and for the PRIDE class that raises the most money for the third week.
- Individual students who raise $50 or have at least 5 donations will be entered to win gift cards from local businesses like Zava Zone, Pinstripes Bowling and Sweet Frog.
- The top fundraisers will receive a $250 gift card to The Bicycle Place, $100 VISA gift card, or $50 restaurant gift cards!
